TORRES FINALLY SCORES

Torres has finally netted for Chelsea, is he worth £50mill (then again is any footballer worth it) but just in case he can’t maintain the form here are some of his best goals:

In an era when money talks louder than the football we have dug up a couple of quotes which we think puts things into prospective:

They offered me a handshake of £10,000 to settle amicably. I told them they would have to be a lot more amicable than that.
Tommy Docherty after being released from Preston North End in 1981.

Premier League football is a multi-million pound industry with the aroma of a blocked toilet and the principles of a knocking shop.

A step back in time - Man City 1969 FA Cup Winners

At Jumpers4 we believe that it has been quite an eventful week or so in the glorious game.

First we have that greatest of all Cup competitions the FA (hear us powers that be do not try to fix something that’s being working well for over a hundred years). Habitually on the side of the underdog (as well as the funnier not so serious aspects) it’s great to see A Man City v Stoke final. In both cases the FA Cup underdog won their respective semi finals and not since 1981 has Man City been to the Final and Stoke, well as you are well aware this is their first time.

Now to Europe, or the competition which was once the European Cup. Well one  English side had to go in an all English 1/8, and once again Man Utd ended Chelsea’s dream of Champions League triumph. (Torres money well spent???)

As for Spurs their debut run was halted by a Real Madrid who once made this Competition their own and with the chosen one in charge may well reach the final.

Lastly who has got the better end of the deal Liverpool or Chelsea. Carroll + £15 million for Torres. Carroll, who is the younger of the two despite looks, has started to find the net for his new Club and his Country while Torres can’t even bury his blushes.

Well he has a point.

"I'll get into trouble with my girlfriend if I play - I don't think she'll be too happy if I'm chasing Totti all over Rome."
